Inspiration

We always strive to support the pollinators in our garden, ensuring a vibrant ecosystem that thrives with life. One day, we decided to plant an abundance of Butterfly weed, not only for its stunning orange flowers but also for its vital role in attracting butterflies and other magnificent creatures. Little did I know that these flowers would catalyze a truly awe-inspiring artistic exploration.

While the vibrant orange flowers stole the show during the summer months, the seed pods they produced left my heart brimming with wonder. Their delicate structure and intricate patterns fascinated me, beckoning me to study them further. Over the years, I collected these precious seed pods, each telling a unique story of nature's craftsmanship.

As an artist, I yearned to capture their essence and bring them to life through my creations. After countless hours of experimentation and dedication, I finally discovered a technique to transform these humble seed pods into breathtaking 3D shapes. It was a breakthrough moment that filled me with joy and ignited my creativity like never before.

While the natural colour palette of these seed pods leaned towards shades of grey and brown, my artistic spirit longed for hues of orange and green. This creative freedom allowed me to infuse my sculptures with vitality and energy, capturing the physical form and emotional connection I felt with these natural wonders.
